Our paddling holidays either focus on water exploration as the main activity, or simply include paddling as part of the package/as an optional activity.
Paddling is about as Canadian as you can get. Home to thousands of lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands, Canada’s history is built largely around the role of the canoe. When Europeans first arrived in North America they found the First Peoples using the canoe as their only means of water transport and, without the canoe, Canada's founding industry, the fur trade, could not have been developed.
These days, paddling is less a necessity and more a form of leisure. It is an ideal way to get up close with nature and to explore areas inaccessible by land – And it is fun! More often than not, guided paddling is in the form of kayaking, but other forms of paddling include rafting, inflatable canoe, and hard-sided canoe.
